In May 2019 we were appointed by Pantera Carpentry to provide the design and supply of bespoke joinery items for the prestigious Canary Wharf Contractors new development at 10 Park Drive, Wood Wharf. We are delighted at the end result and it is great to see the installation process captured on film.

Of the joinery works required the stand-out items were two large screens in the Reception area, which provided privacy and a visually impressive design feature within the new building.

Although we had priced the Architect’s original concept drawings at tender stage, on appointment we quickly established that the Screens would need to be redesigned in order to make sure it was feasible in terms of buildability and installation.

Adaptions to the original design included using specially welded tube components that are used to build roll cages for racing cars, manufactured by our supplier GTEC Fabrications. We also used Lamello Tenso clips to hold the MDF panels together where the architect had originally specified magnets.

Due to the sheer size and complexity of the Screens which weighed approx. 5 tonnes, we felt it was necessary to seek advice from a Structural Engineer, and appointed Echo Pit Workshop.  Following Echo Pit’s advice, we built in a tolerance to the metal frame to allow for the building to move without affecting the screen stability.

In addition to the Screens on this project we also provided; Reception Desk, Reception Feature Lacquered Screen, Cupboards, Library, Mailbox Credenzas and Audio-Visual Credenza.
