The client

Leading carpentry contractor were in need of extra joinery assistance and so called upon the workshop to assist with building a traditional dark oak panelled wall effect for a high-end reception area. Choosing such a dramatic colour meant that we were going to have to choose the tone of the stane carefully and work with the spaces natural light to accentuate the character of the room and to avoid it overwhelming the space.

Joinery materials

Using a solid, FSC American white oak and crown cut selected fire rate veneered boards, we stained the timber to match the existing wood frames that were used for the original antique mirrors.

The panel section for the walls was measuring in at 1.2m wide and needed to be identical in cut and size and so due to the size and scale of the panels, they had to be built in the workshop and transported and installed.

The results

For this project, Falkus Joinery was also required to designed and manufactured the heavy door sets and other communal joinery.

The client was thrilled with the end results and as due to the success of the project we were able to foster a strong working relationship and continue to collaborate on joinery projects.
