Max Fordham is a sustainable environmental engineering practice, who specialize in mechanical engineering, environmental design and building physics. Due to the rapid growth of the company, the team were in need of additional storage units and desk space and commissioned the manufacture of custom made wood furniture.
Due to our central London location we were able to manufacture and build this custom made unit and deliver it within four weeks.
Working from a combination of architect’s drawing and sketch up model supplied by the client the joinery successfully completed two phases of the Max Fordham fit out. The workshop produced storage units, desks, as well as the upholstered reception bench with a display shelving. Through this project we used a combination of veneered American white Oak MDF and solid American oak.
The office space started directly behind this reception bench, following the entire perimeter of the old piano factory, and the upholstered padded back and insulated cavity also acted as a sound baffle to mitigate the associated noise of a large rotunda building. The reception desk was designed to divide the open circular layout of the building into a clear reception area.
