Restoration joinery at the museum
Working with the Natural History Museum (NHM) is one of our most prestigious projects to date. After an intensive tender process we won the contract to renovate their private members lounge – the Anning Room, which have been designed to meet the needs of the museums ever growing number of members.
This project came in two phases, with the first phase comprising of the restoration of the existing original door arches and additional miscellaneous bespoke joinery items.
The second phase involved the renovation of the two story members lounge, including, bench seating, reception desk, integrated book shelf, radiator covers, eight internal doors, baby changing tray, skirting, two vanity units, two waiter station, kitchen hot/cold pass counter, fire place paneling, framed mirror, and two coffee points.
In total the project spanned 18 months, and involved heavy collaboration with a multitude of subcontractors, which occasionally presented challenges, which we were quickly able to overcome.
As with any lengthy project, the team worked tirelessly to meet tight deadlines, present joinery solutions, and satisfy the overall needs of the client. As as a result the client was pleased with the end product and we have been asked to priced for additional work, and so we look forward to maintaining a continued relation with the museum.
