ABOUT THE PROJECT
Thy Barber is traditional barbershop set to lead the resurgence in traditional men’s grooming. Having started as an annual pop-up, the concept quickly developed into a three-chaired concession barbershop, within lifestyle bar, The Bike Shed. Five years on the barbershop has gained local renowned and were looking to expand and open a flagship shop.
Having an established relationship, the joinery was keen to support our neighbour with their joinery needs by offering them left over materials.
Touched by the gesture, owner Frank, later commissioned the workshop to produce a vanity sink unit and till area.
Being a self-confessed collector the shop serves a shrine to barber memorabilia, with heavy influence from North American biker culture, so we were mindful of joinery being in keeping with the space as a whole.
Due to the imminent shop launch there were incredibly tight deadlines to achieve, resulting in late night fitting. However, due to the dedication from the appointed joiner, from design to manufacture the process was completed within a fortnight.
Overall Frank was satisfied with the quality and the finish of the joinery items and we look forward to investing in more community projects.
We hope you enjoyed hearing about this community joinery project and if you are local to the area, why not pay the workshop a visit.
