The joinery on this project consisted a factory finished tea point [pictured above], pictures rails, a fitted bookcase for the Principal’s lodge and the strip, refurb, and re-polish over 30no existing mahogany doors.
The tea-point was designed with bi-folding doors to close the entire worktop, sink and high-level cupboards off when not in use. The matching low-level units were fitted, concealing storage and white goods.
The doors we constructed using a polypropylene honeycomb core to reduce the weight. This meant that the span could be wide, without resorting to running the doors on a lower rail, obstructing the colour matched worktop.
The bookcase was made from solid tulip wood wood and stained to match the existing mahogany units. The pale nature of the tulip wood allowed FJL’s polishers to build up the colour slowly to achieve an exact match.
